NOTE: this is not a “3rd Saturday” restoration. Meet in the Nevada Avenue parking lot of High Rock (200 Nevada Avenue). We will follow the trail beside the Moravian Cemetery where we will try to uproot some of the many alien Devil’s Walking Sticks that have sprung up in the fallen trees along the fence line. We will also uproot or cut Multi-flora Rose and other unwanted plants that we find along the way. Should the fence line be too difficult, we’ll continue to Pumphouse Pond to clean up what has sprouted new since out last visit. If you don’t have your own, Protectors will supply gloves and pruners (& refreshments). After a two hour work session (our 251th monthly workshop), we will take a short walk over nearby trails. For more information call Don Recklies at (718) 768-9036 or Chuck Perry at (718) 667-1393. (Service credit is available.)
Join Hillel on a walk to the Cropsey Overlook through the woods of the central Greenbelt. Pass ponds and kettle holes and marvel at how ice formed this landscape long ago. Meet at the High Rock Park parking lot at the top of Nevada Avenue. E-mail Hillel Lofaso at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 718-477-0545 for more information.
